Official Description
Kids have loved Hasbro's My Little Pony since the 1980s, and now we've recreated the third set of the original Rainbow Ponies – Gusty, Sparkler, Heart Throb and Surprise! With long, shiny rainbow-colored hair that you can style, they look and feel just like you remember and are the perfect gift for kids or adult collectors. Each pony includes a comb, brush and ribbon and has a different glitter cutie mark! You can collect all four!
Why are they suddenly releasing so many ponies from the old generations?:O
ReplyDeleteBecause body shaming is non existent in 2020, and the fat ponies have gotten the courage to step back outside! Love me some progress!
DeleteBecause maybe they look close to real ponies. Plus kids can get to have a choice between the new and the original ones.

DeleteProbably because the tail end of the GenXers and the early Millennials who were used to buying G1s off the shelf want to get them for their own children, but don't want to give them a toy that is "worth money" like some of the older ones are. Most of us had our pony collections decimated in yard sales in the pre-Ebay days.
DeleteThe basic fun re-releases started as part of the 40th anniversary celebration actually.
Deleteid rather they recreate some of the international exclusives and maybe some takara tomy ponys as well
ReplyDeleteFinally I'm going to be getting gusty and sparkler for my birthday this year and I can't wait for these retro ponies to come to target!
ReplyDeleteI already own SS Gusty, but maaan I'm sorely tempted by BF Gusty. She's just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI wish they had more longer manes but I'm sooo happy they made these! I can't wait to get my hands on them!!😊💕
ReplyDeleteI found these in a Target store back in June, and emailed about them with a picture.... never heard back from the admins.
ReplyDeleteOh my, we really msised that mail! Sorry this happend, if you feel it takes too long you may always send us a reminder. I've just added the photos to the post.
