New Equestria Girls Minis Announced - The End of EqG Dolls?
Hasbro has released their official press statement for the upcoming line of Equestria Girls for 2017. Several figures have already been announced before, but there is plenty of new merch coming our way the coming months, including some interesting names! Expect sets with Starlight Glimmer, Daring Do, Trixie, Muffins (Derpy) and more, including a new character: Juniper Montage!
A big point of attention is the fact that all listings for this year's Equestria Girls line-up consists of Minis and with that it's officially over for the Equestria Girls dolls line. We'll await the Toy Fair for a definite conclusion, but the released info is a pretty big hint.

We've listed all press release information below and highlighted the more interesting names to make it a bit more readable.

  1. Dang. I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy the whole Movie Collection set to get that Sunset. Still, $39.99 isn't so bad if you consider that the old Sunset Mini can't be found for less than $25...

  2. Single-pack figures tend to sellout quickly while larger sets are easier to find. Maybe this collection will make sunset easier to get.

  4. Really I love the Mini Equestria Girls, and now, with the new sets that have been announced and are coming, oh yeyeey !!, the Rarity, Fluttershy and Twilight sets (where dress and shoes can be switch), I want them NOW, jeje, upsi...

However, without any sign of the original dolls in the future, really make me sad.
I see that many are pleased that they have finished those "creepy" dolls; However, these dolls, personally, are better than many on the market; Yeah, they do not have many special details like others that are known and have a lot of fame, but for me, they are more cute and beautiful than those famous.

  5. Strange that the press release doesn't mention Sunset's Sushi Truck, which was shown at the New York Toy Fair.

  6. I think the little molded-plastic "minis" EG dolls are way, way better-looking than the "Betty Spaghetti" kind, as I call them. xD I'd like to be able to get *just* Sunset, Starlight, Adagio, and some of the other less common characters (Roseluck, Daring-Do, Sweetie Drops, and this Juniper Montage)...be a shame if you as an adult fan who already has way too many figures/toys/collectibles would be required to buy a whole playset just for one or two or three little pony-girls. I do hope they'll be available separately, or as a set of just the "unusual" girls. ;p
