Image Donors Wanted for G1 and G2 Database
As some of you have read here on our website and on Facebook: The preparations to include every generation on this website have started. It's not that hard to figure out how many ponies were released and in which sets back in the days (it's still a lot of work, though :P), but the biggest problem will be getting images of these since sites like Amazon didn't exist back in the days. This means that all images for these databases have to be donated by people.

Of course we can just use Google and use whatever image we need but we find that a bit rude. ;) So that's why we're asking you people to send in images for our databases. Of course we will provide credit at the bottom of our database. (I bet it will be a long list!) So, if you want to donate some images then it's suggested that you read the points below to see what we exactly need.

What do we need?

  • At the moment we're starting with collecting images for Generation 1 and 2
  • We're looking for pics of the ponies loose and in packaging
  • Nirvana's are also welcome
  • The ponies need to be in a good state (Manes looking good/tamed/not cut, no dirt and/or spots)
  • If possible, let us know which release it is to make organizing things easier
  • Images must be larger than 800 by 800 pixels (regular photos will usually do fine)
  • It's preferred that they have a white or light solid colored background
  • Images from the side work best (see the sample image below)
  • You don't have to edit the images we'll do that (like removing the background)
  • Please send in your own images and not those of somebody else
You can send the images to or send them to us on Facebook or Tumblr. You're also free to upload your images to services like Dropbox, OneDrive or WeTransfer (but please do not use PhotoBucket).
Please also include with the picture the name of the pony and to which set it belongs. And don't forget to include your (nick)name as well so we know who to give credit. :)

Sample photo of a G1 Pretty Vision: Taken from the side, light background and in a good state.

But which ones do you already have?

Over the time when we'll (hopefully) have received lots of images. It can be quite confusing since it can happen that people will send us images of ponies we already have. To prevent this we've created an online document which will be updated whenever we receive some new images so that you can see which one we still need.
This list will contain all US released G1 and G2 ponies that we're looking for, including their current status. The list does not include Nirvana ponies, but you're free to send them in (and we'll add them to the list). Other ponies that are missing from the list (which we somehow missed) are also welcome!
And finally I would like to ask people to share this post at many different places so that we can all collect the images much faster and so that the database can be released more sooner. We would be very grateful.
Toghether we can build the complete library of My Little Pony toys!

  3. I can get a picture for one of the U.K. exclusive ponies, but my other G1s have messy hair or have had their hair cut by the previous owner

  4. Before finding this site, I used to check strawberryreef.com for lists of MLP figures. Maybe you could contact them to see if they want to donate some of their images.

  5. Mine are in very good condition with original hair. I'll just have to take a trip out to my parent's house to get them sometime soon. I have 60-75 ponies and have an excel spreadsheet with all their names, but I don't know which year they are since I was like 3-10 years old (and obviously they're all loose since I played with them a lot!) :) Sounds like a good project for the next weekend I'm bored!

    1. We will add G3, but most of those are easy to find online.
