MLP McDonald's 2016 Happy Meal Toys MLP Masks
We first heard about the masks in the McDonald's Happy Meals in July 2015 when Brazil got the first two of them: Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. In November 2015 Russia got the whole Transformer/My Little Pony set and by the looks of it a lot of countries have started to follow. From this week on you can now get these MLP Masks as well with your Happy Meal in several countries. The countries who have them now are: Germany, Austria, Italy and... the Netherlands as well. The last MLP Themed happy meal we got we're the Keychain figures from.. 2-3 years ago if I'm right. So we were quite excited to see some MLP toys again. So we returned from the McDonald's here and let's see what we got.

Like mentioned in the older post, this set contains a total of eight masks. The boys version are characters from Transformers and the girls can get Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Twilight Sparkle. I don't know if this is the same in other countries but here they don't release all at once. It's one mask each week. The first one to be available here was Rarity.

Now Ossie and I already had dinner but we wanted a small dessert as well so we got ourself a milkshake. Ossie had banana (which is his favorite flavor) and I got a small Caramel-Macchiato milkshake. You have the option here to purchase the toys loose as well so you don't have to order a whole Happy Meal Menu.

So instead of the toy alone you also get the box which is also great for collectors since it doesn't come with any grease-stains from the fries... I only took pictures of the MLP sides and it contains a small quiz to find out which MLP character you are (of the ones available, so minus Applejack and Fluttershy).

When we got home it was time to pack out the Rarity Mask. It's made of a very thick and solid plastic and the quality looks kinda good. It also comes with a small barrette for in your hair with some brushable hair attached to it. I kept it in place since I don't want it to get all tangled. The mask itself actually also fits an adult head but the plastic is kinda hard like I mentioned before and it can feel a little bit uncomfortable. I don't know if this is the case for children as well.

So that's the first one of this set. Like I said before we get one mask each week so we have to return next weekend to get the next one. I wonder who it will be. The people in the US have also something to keep waiting for as McDonald's will release a whole new set of figures next month.

    1. The chances of them making it to the US are slim. We are getting a new line of pony figures from McDonald's starting in mid February I believe. Personally, I like the figures better than these masks :)
